LEL away on Thursday

Dear 12eCh and 12dCh,

I am away on Thursday - I'm interviewing so will be around but not able to be in the lesson. In my absence could you please investigate the development of the model of benzene and produce some succinct notes. You need to be able to:

1. Describe the kekule structure of benzene
2. Explain the evidence for and against the kekule structure of benzene
3. Describe the orbital model of of benzene
4. Explain the evidence for the orbital model of benzene

I will go over it in class by picking on you and expecting you to know something about it!

You need to answer some of the exam questions that I have posted on the blog (below) – there are 504 minutes worth in total (if you ignore any overlaps). Some questions have come out a little weird and it is impossible to read the scale (so don’t do those) and you’ve not learnt anything about fermentation – so ignore these questions too!

Have fun without me. I’ve booked the library computers for your use (not the ones on the stage) so you could ask Mrs Cook to boot the other 6^th formers out.
